Khaila King | Writer | Photographer | Artist
"Why would I care to be liked by terrible people with bad taste?"
First I was called to writing, then I was called to visual art and entrepreneurship, now I am being called to the camera. My name is Khaila King and I am TheKreatiff, an alternative multi medium creative based out of Indianapolis, Indiana.
My work consists of written pieces published internationally and in print, digital and acrylic artworks and photography.
I was born and raised in a conservative state, where creative development was not always encouraged, however, no matter how much I tried to divert from my path, my heart always guided me back. I am meant to create. I believe my ability to manifest works of art in various mediums are gifts and it is up to me to decide how to use them.
I am a Black American woman, a descendant of American chattel slavery. My art is a reflection of my identity and it is driven by divine feminine energy, emphasizing authentic, unfiltered and unapologetic artistic expression.
My work does not conform to anyone's standards, but my own. After obtaining a degree in Journalism at Indiana University Bloomington and studying in Paris France, I realized that I could achieve anything and I will do whatever I want so long as it brings me joy and peace.
To wrap this up, I will leave you with this: I am not one thing, I am an abundance of things. I love what I do, but I am not what I do. I want to inspire and impact others, but I acknowledge that it's not my responsibility to. If this message resonates with you... welcome to my matrix.
